After getting ILR do you have to get British citizenship BEFORE you can get Dual citizenship?
There is no legal requirement for you to obtain British Citizenship
But there are advantages.
In short Yes.You need British Citizenship to be a dual citizen.
When you have been granted British Citizenship you are technivally no longer a Philippine citizen. You will of course still have your RP passport.
You will need to re-acquire Phils citizenship at a ceremony in Phil Embassy.
All is more cost I'm afraid.
