Picking up stressed out shoppers who spend totally beyond their means,to the wasted customers who just turn it into one big piss up and the pressure to spend and not to disappoint anyone
I do like normality as well and of course leading up to Xmas my working hours are all mixed up so it's now a lot easier planning my days off etc so I'm happy

had my first christmas here in uk..was amazed with all the presents, lovely dinner and all....it made me wonder if they know the true meaning of christmas and why there's a celebration like christmas day as none never bother to go to church...no offense just my observation...its like it just all about present on christmas day.

if you have small kids then xmas is brill but the older we get its just a holiday from work for many, new year i think is even worst now, come 12 midnight BONG everything is the same , save the money you may have spent and go on holiday, but i must admit seeing our friends over the xmas period has been fantasic, we all say we must do it more often and come on all make sure we all do it at lease once a month i say, a little food some games and lots of chat, seeing the ladies talking and cooking together in there native tonge i think is great must be just like being back in the phils for them, and i know they miss that time too

I blame the yanks for this Xmas commercialism.
Not to go too deeply into it but when I was living there, I saw Father Xmas in his regalia (their Santa Claus) selling water beds on the TV in JULY

"Their" shops are everywhere now in the UK and this over-commercialism has spread so much that it has devalued the festive season
My wife and I put the Xmas tree up on 24th and it will stay up for 7 days only.

My family stopped buying presents for adults years ago.

When our little daughter is about two years old I think the Xmas cheer will come back to our little family, anyway.
It is something I am eagerly awaiting

you have barbie dolls, my little ponies - there are 100s of the things, i know i've had to buy most of them , dolls house, pets - real live ones , prams, cots, clothes, jewelery, Nintendo ds, dvd's, ipods, etc, and worse of all boys to deal with

Yes we do Arthur If Christmas is for kids, why are sprouts a requirement for Dinner ?
I do have to say, however, that I've been cheered by numerous photos from filipino friends showing the festivities in the Philippines. So many happy faces, at a fraction of the equivalent cost in the UK, and a far greater appreciation of the true meaning of Christmas .

Glad its over,was looking forward to the sales Went today,found a shop selling Nike Cortez(Retro,my fave)asked for size 9 and was offered 8 or 10 Went into John Lewis to buy a cashmere jumper,beautifully soft,not exactly shahtoosh standards but getting there,sold out of my size Merino wool baselayer,didnt have my size either Ended up coming home with a new vaccum cleaner Thank **** its over for another year I did have a pleasant conversation with a young pinay lady who works in the shopping mall however

I went to Holy Communion/ Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and my village church was packed. Half way through the service a woman came in and sat on her own on the rear pew and cried unconsolably throughout the rest of the service. We were all very concerned and those nearby offered comfort. It highlighted to me what a very lonely and upsetting time for some Christmas can be..................

I enjoyed being with what little family I have left and it was lovely to spend my first Christmas with my 6 year old nephew but I'm glad it's over too!

I just got back from Davao have posted a few pictures on my profile, I spent my Xmas day at the baptism of my Fiancee nephew Kieth Justin in Church in Davao, Was a lovely day i was honored to be a Ninong.

We used to pop in on the way home from the pub on Xmas eve as teenagers...
No idea why but perhaps in our own way we felt we were taking part in the community Christmas spirit..
From memory,I think the record over 3 years was 16 minutes before being kicked out physically by the Priest and his aides.. We always kept trying though!!
Obviously...We were misunderstood!!
