    Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali resigns after a month of protests over unemployment and high food prices. The announcement was made on state TV by Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, who said he was assuming power.

    Oh no, just booked my Holiday to Egypt, almost booked Tunisia as my second choice

    jimeve, glad you didnt go to tunisia. watching news on cable.. riots all over and some facilities were burned

    just booked my Holiday to Egypt
    Where you going Jim?I did a month in Cairo in the 90's studying arabic at the ILI in Cairo(still cant speak it however).

    I'm lucky I changed my mind and opted for Egypt. all flights to Tunisia are stopped, t/cook are bringing back 1800 holiday makers
