Thats a good question Nick and they will look at how long you are stating she will stay. Others on here will probably say that as its a 6 months visa you have to be able to show support for the 6 months. I personally gave her a few thousand pound to put in her account and obviously had money in mine so that proved enough for the 2 weeks we said we were staying there. Others here may have different views.

Have a look at the document below might help you out with some of your questions. 2.1.10 is funding.

I just found out that you can get "certified" copies of bank book & even passport at your bank which should be free as they use a stamp

Up to a point ... the main difference being that a *Visit/Tourist Visa costs about one tenth of either of the Fiance(e) or Spousal versions - which are Settlement Visas - and *is infinitely more difficult to obtain, because of its short term ... and the UK Immigration Authorities' [justifiable] suspicions that the holder will abuse its conditions by failing to return to his/her homeland within the validity period specified.

But, yes ... the requirements are basically the same. to the friendly online filipino/uk community.

3 years is a long time. It's the same with me and Urs, we've been chatting last July and we're meeting next February and she might come to the UK or I'll go to Kuwait so it will be coming 2 years since we chatted before we met. Arthur is such an amazing help and makes people get through thier visas

    Not at all.
As long as you & your bloke are able to adhere to the requirements of the fiance visa, and satisfy the ECO of the genuine nature of your relationship.

I'm wondering if this will affect Urs' family visit application.
