yes i've been caught up in situations like that a few times, you lost a 'great deal' of money ? why did you work for months without being paid ??

If your employer is legally insolvent then you would have been able to make a claim for your lost wages, redundancy pay and other payments relating to your work. so i dont see how you could have 'lost a great deal of money' or claimed from The Insolvency Service's Redundancy Payments Offices

Further Proof that Theodolite Training Group UK Inc is not a Philippines Company!!

In order to show that Theodolite Training Group Incorporated is NOT a registered Philippines company I have started the RESERVE COMPANY NAME procedure on the SEC website...

    http://iregister.sec.gov.ph/MainServlet

You have to go through a few steps before finally reaching here...

My List of Companies > Verify and Reserve Company Name > Update User Profile > Sign Out

Step 4 | Verify Company Name
Click Continue to accept proposed name and proceed to Review your Profile. Click Back to discard current proposed company name and verify another.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - Checking your proposed name against:
    >> Offensive words ... PASSED
    >> Internationally known foreign corporations ... PASSED
    >> Registered names ... PASSED
    >> Reserved names ... PASSED
    >> Company-owned words ... PASSED
    >> Restricted words in accordance to existing laws ... PASSED

    - Proposed Company Name is Available!

Proposed Company Name: THEODOLITE TRAINING GROUP UK INCORPORATED

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can anyone offer any explanation why I can reserve a company name that posthome claims is his?

    Who is coramia7?

In an earlier post post on this thread:

    http://filipinaroses.com/showthread....479#post270479

I showed that testimonials for Theodolite Group UK, in Cebu (by supposed satisfied students) were written at least one month before the centre was opened on 27 December, 2010.

But I have found a testimonial supposedly written by a Theodolite Training Group student coramia7 some months earlier; 2nd August, 2010 to be precise: Look near the bottom of the page here...

    http://www.qype.co.uk/place/1365074-...-Training-Cebu

So, just who is this lone student that posted this rave review almost 5 months before Theodolite Training UK opened their doors to students? It is known that posthome's wife is called Cora, so could coramia7 be posthome's wife?

Have a look at this website...

    http://www.istorya.net/forums/househ...-it-out-7.html

and find the post which reads...

Can you send me the pics to coramia7@yahoo.com

Read the username for the person who posted that. It is Theodolite. What a coincidence!

So, let's look at an earlier post (3 April, 2010) by Theodolite on the same forum...

    http://www.istorya.net/forums/career...sh-online.html

It seems that Theodolite joined the forum in April 2010 specifically to promote Theodolite Training who only opened their centre over 8 months later! Who would do that other than the people involved in setting up Theodolite Training Group - that is Peter and Cora Thwaites.

Theodolite has already associated themselves with the name coramia7, so I suggest, in all probability, that Cora Thwaites, is coramia7 (the student in August 2010) and Theodolite (the promoter of Theodolite Training Group in April 2010)

    Who is Tom?

A quick glance on www.theodolite-training.com shows a picture of a man lecturing to a class of at least sixeteen Asian students. Ignoring the anomalous claim in text near that picture: you study in small groups of less than 8 students can we be sure that the photo really is the centre that posthome opened on 27 December, 2010?

Right clicking on the picture reveals the following file name:

    http://www.theodolite-training.com/images/tom.jpg

The questions just who is Tom? Could he be the lecturer in the picture and where else might his picture be found? It only took a few minutes to find the same picture here...

    http://www.lcci.org.uk/why-offer-lcci-iq.asp

So, that seems ok then. Theodolite Training is accredited by the EDI and the EDI is licensed by the LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce & Industry) and the students do look Asian so, maybe that picture was really taken at posthome's Theodolite Training Centre in Cebu, especially as Theodolite does offer LCCI Examinations Board qualifications.

But, wait a moment, Tom (the very person in that picture) is a former employee of EDI who left EDI some months before posthome opened his centre to students on 27 December, 2010. So how could Tom be photographed for the EDI website, teaching at posthome's training centre before it had even opened?

What I do note is the pictures on the two sites are identical in terms of picture size, resolution, file size and file name!

    Theodolite Training Group Payment Methods

Elsewhere on this forum I raised doubts about the payment methods for courses offered by Theodolite Training Group UK. There are several payment options listed across two websites...

    http://www.theodolite-training.com/payment.html
    https://www.secure.theodolite.net/Cards.pdf

    The payment methods are:

    1. By Paypal to Peter Thwaites
    2. By bank transfer to Corazon Carvellida's bank account in Cebu
    3. By Bank transfer to Mrs Corazon Thwaites bank account in the UK
    4. By cash in US Dollars
    5. By Paypal to broadmark1@yahoo.com
    6. By Debit or Credit card
    7. By bank transfer to Theodolite Training Group UK's bank account in Cebu
    8. By Western Union to Peter Thwaites

That is certainly ample payment menthods but each of them has to be questioned; in the Philippines, a training centre such as Theodolite Training Group UK has to be a registered company with the SEC and that company also has to be registered as an education provider. Neither sole traders nor partnerships can register as an education provider, it must be an incorporated company.

Given some of the payment methods above, this would almost certainly not satisfy the requirement for posthome's business to be trading as a company. I have already raised doubts that posthome's business is even registered as a company earlier in this thread, since there is no record of the company on the SEC website.

Posthome did, in an e-mail to me, offer the excuse that most students pay direct into the bank account of Theodolite Training Group UK. But if that organisation is not a registered company, posthome is trading illegally, irrespective of the payment method used.

Is Theodolite Training Group Incorporated 'Approved'?

Theodolite Training Group UK Inc. does appear on a VFS list, but according to the website of the SEC (who maintain a register of all Philippines companies), there is no such company as Theodolite Training Group UK Inc. If the company does not exist, it cannot possibly be 'approved'.

Strictly speaking, there is no longer any 'approval' required by centres offering the A1 test. Approval by the UK Border Agency was, apparently, a requirement when the A1 tests were introduced but that requirement was soon dropped. Awarding bodies do have to show that the tests they provide do meet the UKBA A1 test standard and the test offered by Theodolite Training does meet that standard.

Given that the A1 test offered by Theodolite Training is one approved by the UKBA, it would appear that if you did pass the test with Theodolite Training you would satisfy UKBA requirements. But, if Theodolite Training is not a registered company, I would question how long they can continue to trade.

The only other provider of the A1 test I know of in Cebu is the British Council.

oh yeah... it is approved alright... I had my A1 test at their school... And I can see that their establishment is legitimate... I saw their SEC and BIR REGISTRATIONS, and it's authentic. If you want to know the real deal "Howard", I challenge you to go to their establishment... To see is to believe... Hahaha... Your a funny guy "Howard" (sarcastically)... ^_^

As I indicated, there is no approval required by UKBA for organsations, such as Theodolite Training, who offer the A1 test. It is is only the qualification that needs to be recognised by the UKBA. Similarly, neither the British Embassy, nor the VFS really give approval to organisations offering the test.

The inclusion of any business on the VFS list only arises if the awarding body (such as EDI) makes contact with the British Embassy saying they (eg EDI) have approved a new centre (such as Theodolite Training). I actually have e-mails (sent to me by postome) which indicate this is how Theodolite Training is included on the VFS list.

So, the only 'approval' for Theodolite Training Group UK comes from EDI. I will be taking this matter up with EDI as well as the LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry), since EDI offers LCCI Inernational qualifications. It is my opinion that EDI should not give approval to training centres where those training centres do not conform to legal requirements in the country they are based. If Theodolite Training is not an incorporated company in the Philippines, it is certainly trading illegally.

The fact that the British Council is not on the VFS list is really just a commercial decision by the British Council. They do offer tests that satisfy the A1 test requirements and they are included on the UKBA list.

    pain2k (AKA posthome)

I am not sure why you have reduced to posting insults under another name, under the pretence of being a student of Theodolite Training Group UK; it simply does not help your case that your centre is creditable.

People, like me, search the internet for training schools offering the A1 test. You provide the test virtually on demand, unlike other centres. That is particularly important for those people who are unaware of this new A1 test introduced for Spouse/fiancee applicants just two months ago.

Anyone ending up on this page may well be deterred from using your centre because of the numerous false claims you have made on here (and elsewhere) about yourself and your businesses in the UK and Cebu. All those false claims put a dent on your credibility as a person and on Theodolite Training Group UK as a training provider. But you then add to your woes by adopting another identity and hurling insults on a public forum.

I have no idea why you did not simply say that you have put on your website today the certificates to show your company registration with the SEC and BIR, rather than registering as a new member of this forum today and pretending to be a former student, claiming to have seen those certificates.

I certainly do trust that your company is properly incorporated, despite no record yet appearing on the SEC website and I trust you are also properly registered as an education provider with the relevant government agency.

I have no problems with legitimate businesses running their affairs lawfully but there are many aspects of your business and the way that you conduct yourself that still give me cause for concern.

British Council in Cebu Conduct A1 Test

I was ready to tell my 'other half' about Theodolite Training Group until I saw the response by Posthome and his alter-ego, Pain2k, to Howerd's real concerns.

I would urge anyone to use the British Council in Cebu to take the test, so you can be sure that you are dealing with an organisation truly recognised around the world rather than risk your money with this questionable training centre making highly dubious claims for itself.

Here is a list of English Language schools in Cebu, who may possibly offer training:

Theodolite Training Group is Collecting Cedit Card Details!

Here is the payment page for paying for Theodolite Training Group UK's service by credit/debit card:

    https://www.secure.theodolite.net/process.html

Strangely, posthome (aka pain2k) is using his UK website (theodolite.net) to collect payments for Theodolite Training Group in the Philippines! But there can be no doubt that theodolite.net is being used as this page shows...

    https://www.secure.theodolite.net/Cards.pdf (contains link to https://www.secure.theodolite.net/process.html)

    Have a close look at...

    https://www.secure.theodolite.net/process.html

You will notice that it does not state who payments are being made to, nor can you say how much you wish to pay!

It does say at the top of the screen that details are not kept after the transaction is made, but how do we know this? Well, I did a trial transaction! It accepted all the details I entered (without objection) even though I used invalid card details! So, the site clearly did not attempt to process my transaction there and then.

That means Thedololite Training Group have retained card details and without me specifying any amount just how much would they attempt to take from the card?
