Sars, having just been to Tagaytay and Taal, I have to agree, it really is a beautiful area. I love the winding mountain road and forests on the way down from Tagaytay to the shores of Taal lake. We got a Jeepney from Taal to Batangas and on to Tanauan and drove through some nices villages and towns (you've already seen my FB photo's ) . Another advantage is that it's close enough to Metro Manila if needed, and well served by buses and good roads (by Phil standards)
Yes agree totally. I went to Tagatay too. Although I passed on the donkey ride up to the Tall volcano... the boat ride out there was fantastic. But I found the air fresher there less opressively humid, at least for me. My gf liked it too. She had never been on open water before, and suddenly to find herself in a boat at speed across the Taal lake, her smile made my trip I guess that magic made me fall in love with Tagatay...
