The Dell courier collected my netbook at 9.30 am ( could have been any time between 8 am - 6 pm), with a promise to return within 7 working days. Thanks again everyone for posting, I'll update you with the outcome ! Meantime the Sony Vaio is in a completely different league (but with a different price tag). I obtained "free" Norton security for a year as part of the package, so I have time to seek advice about security before the year expires.
