hmmmm, who then ,? i read others saying they did the test in cagayan, who with? and is the A1 TEST still valid,i also read its not, thee sre so many threads on this subject saying different things, its confusing.
I agree, it can be very confusing.
The 'rules' all changed July 18 that's why. The listing before was completely updated.
You may only consult the new UKBA approved listing.
Try to stay focussed and look to that new listing here:-

ive been to cebu only once b4 so dont know the place very well, the district we stayed at was near the 'Gisano Metro mall ' anyone know it and if theres a test centre anywhere near that part of Cebu. also which test does my wife apply for,im confused.PLEASE someone, give me an address of a UKBA approved test center in Cebu and which exam to apply for. PLEASEEEEE.
i already gave you the approved test center in Cebu the other day..IDP Philippines is on the new list of approved test center in Cebu..but you ignored it and said you'd rather go to Cagayan de Oro..the one posted by ConfusedMe is not on the approved list anymore so it's not worth asking where it is..if you would open and read the list that Terpe gave you and call or contact each of them and ask for a test center in Cebu, you would already know the answer by now..just stick to that list coz those are the ONLY APPROVED TEST CENTERS given by UKBA as of July 18, 2011 and no one else..
yes but ive looked at so many im getting mixed up,. can u please say which test she needs,? is it A1 or IELTS. THNKS
IELTS is the type of exam and A1 is just the grade they give for the exam..there's no such thing as A1 english exam..the tests your wife can take are IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, and the ones listed on the new list from UKBA..just stick to that list and no other so you won't be confused..
Hi briancol,
A1 is the standard the your wife has to meet. There are tests that meet that specific requirement.
IELTS is a test examination that meets the A1 requirement and more.
You can choose either as long as it is on the list of the UKBA webite.
There is no such test as A1 so you can't choose that one.
A1 is the level or grading needed by the UKBA
As I said, it's better to have a test that's available near to where you live.
Please do review the UKBA listing and contact the providers or follow their links.
Everthing you need to know is there.
Plenty of people take IELTS
thats like a treble post
Also I can add my wife did the IELTS general exam back in May in Cagayan De Oro. She did her exam through the British Council.
If you decide to do IELTS try the British Council. Here is a link to the registration agents you can use to take the test:

thnks everyone for trying to help.i looked at that IDP Site but was confused coz i dont know what all the initials of the tests mean, its doesnt exactly say, take ur 'UKBA est here' and the web page seems to talk about students in australia,UK, & else where.
stevemonty. could you just give me the name and address ,phone number of the place ur wife did the test.i will pass it on to my wife. i looked at that list but there r so many there i dont know who to use. . i will give my wife the option of going to cagayan or cebu, which ever suits her. thank you.
and if therpe or ryanaputi can give me the name & address of a place in Cebu it would help as well. i can see people on here r getting a bit annoyed with me,how do u think i feel.?im p----d off as well.
hi there,
the center she used was in Cagayan de Oro:
Rubrics Review Center
3rd Floor D and L Building
Pabayo-Pacana Sts., Cagayan De Oro City
Telefax: 088.856.3811
088.305.5700
rubricsielts@yahoo.com
IELTS Review Centre
All these centers on that list have been approved by the British Council. I don't think there will be any bad companies as the British Council would not want their name associated with these types of centers.
I know it can be frustrating, but if you use one of these centers approved by the British Council and pass the exam thats one less thing to worry about.
thank u stevemonty,my problem is/was that ive no idea which company to go for,i didnt want to use someone who didnt give the right test,i cant afford to be throwing money away on the wrong test.but now uve given that address at least i/we know they must be ok. all i need now is the same for Cebu and my wife can make the choice,. thank you again.
hello Briancol
I will be taking my English Exam on the 10th of September 2011 (Saturday) and I've paid 9,640 php in their center (when i pay them, i brought with me my Valid ID since i don't have my passport yet 'coz the releasing date of my passport will be on the 26th of September 2011.. tell your fiancee to bring her passport with her) and I can say that this English Exam is an approved list by UKBA.
here is the link
http://www.theodolite-training.com/index.html
some say it's not anymore approved but I called them and they said that they are still approved and it is a CITY & GUILDS approved provider.
"We offer the new UKBA approved A1 City and Guilds IESOL Diploma in Cebu City and Manila"
just try to look at the link i gave to you..
(SORRY but I'm just helping you, you may take it or not
thanks and God bless you!

just be careful using test centers who claim they are UKBA approved..call UKBA and ask if Theodolite is approved..but based on the new list they posted in the UKBA site as of July 18, 2011, Theodolite is NOT INCLUDED..just be careful and we've warned you lots of times already..
hi,im back again. could someone tell me if this centre in Cebu is approved, IDP, Unit 1504 15/F Keppel Center Cardinal Rosales Ave. corner Samar Loop Cebu Business Park Cebu City.
Ask yourself is it on the list? You will find the answer![]()
