Subject Access Request turnround time

Can anyone tell me what usual turnround time is at the moment? My friends request was sent more than 40 days ago. The Home Office have not cashed the cheque for the fee yet!
Maybe the cuts have squeezed their staff numbers??

did your friend get an ack letter that they have recieved his app ?
if so should be within 40 days of receiving the letter, many are around 2 or 3 wks after receiving the ack letter.
i dont think they cash the cheque until they have the SAR ready.
