Done it...several times, on a lot less than that amount.
Last trip was for 3 years.
I rented a 4 bed detached house for a year before completing my own.
3 children too.
We were all happy, comfortable and well fed...but I am resourceful and enjoy DIY, growing fruit and veg, and home-cooking.
...AND I'm a Yorkshireman.
