to the friendly online filipino/uk site, Guy ... and all the best for your forthcoming nuptials; I shall leave the catering advice to those "in the know", however.

Hi guyki, welcome to the forum

Sorry cant' help you with the wedding costs. Plenty of members here got married in Phils so may be able to help you. But it really does depend on so many factors, such as how many guests, how many bridesmaids, clothing, flowers, wedding venue, transportation, photographic and catering etc. Everyone has a different wedding with differing costs.
Her in UK costs can be very basic just to wed or thousands for 'bigger do'.

One thing for sure is that a wedding in the Phils will be much much less on a like for like basis.

Hope someone will just give out an idea.
I'll start the ball rolling with £2000

Hello and welcome to the forum... for budget wedding just apply for marriage license and get married in a court in front of a judge with few close family.

hello welcome to the forum. Let your fiancee get some estimates from different wedding packages in the place where the wedding will take place..Some of those places will give already the roughly amount or cost of the entire wedding either it be held in the church, infront of the judge, or even a garden wedding. Sometimes there's already a minimum or maximum people mention, as well as the dresses/entourage,cakes,car.photos and food in the reception. In that way you can start from there and it will be expanded/added or deducted as you go along.

Thanks all for the advice with regards to the wedding,it will be a church wedding then Im guessing the reception will be at my fiance's house in province, hoping for not more than 50 people but she has warned me that whenever there's a wedding party you get loads of uninvited guests

So my budget is £2000.00 but i'll take extra funds with me just in case

Just my 2 centavos worth. If you set your budget at £2000, then that's the budget.
That amount will very easily cover everything especially if the reception is at the house of your fiancee and 50 guests.
My advice is to be sure you get experienced photographer for stills and video. Don't try to save just a few quid. You should be able to hire good experience people for around £100
