    new found friend visit visa

    Hello Everyone,
    I have a new found friend live near us, She is pinay who is working in hongkong but her employer brought her here in uk as a visitor visa but still she is working the daugther of her employer..( her employer are chinese).I feel bit sad for her coz she is working 24/7 no day off at all....I think its too much, coz she is asking just 6 hours a week to have day off so that she can go to church but her employer refuse it...Now that she is here her salary still hongkong $... Its so cheap since she needs to buy all her personal need..Do you think its right? Any advices would much appreciated....

    Not much you can do, the contract is between her, and her employer. Just be her friend if she needs to talk.

    are you sure she got a visit visa and not domestic worker visa ??
    shes not allowed to work at all on a visit visa, her employer could be fined £10,000 !

    Chinese, many are a hard assed bunch!
    I once dated a beautiful and very rich Chinese HK girl but was not impressed at the way she treated her work-force!
    Pinays to the HK Chinese are certainly treated by many of them as an " underclass" its tragic for us to witness this but it is a fact...........very very sad!

    Yes sir she said her visa is visit visa good for 6months...The mother of her employer who sign her contract and sponsored her to come here but she is working the daugther of her employer...Her employer brought her here coz her daugther will give birth next month and after giving birth they gonna go back to hongkong she said...but anyway thank you for the info sir...much appreciated

    Very sad indeed....work more hours pay less...grrrrrrrr

    In many ways, everyone is 'hooked' to their employer to a certain extent.
    This example saddens me though as any 'fight back' is almost impossible and smacks of exploitation.
    Probably better all round that UKBA takes affirmative action based on information received from a concerned citizen.
    Just an observation.
