I'm not convinced, Mark. In Mick's case, the UKBA gave a written undertaking to curtail the Spousal Visa ... and are - or ought to be - duty-bound to see it through!

As for "bigger fish" ... Mick is a taxpayer - the SAME as most of us - including Damien Green. And whilst the latter's income as a Government Minister is likely to fall within the 'Supertax' bracket - it doesn't automatically confer any "divine right" upon its recipient to be singled out for special treatment. Taxpayers' money is there to serve the public ... and the UKBA is a Public Service!

if micks ex-wife had less than 6 months left they wouldn't bother with curtailment, yes if ILR was obtained by deception then it can be revoked also when you sign a visa application form, your signing a declaration stating everything is true. and it is an offence of the Immigration act to make false statements.

if i person has committed fraud they should be deported, no ifs or buts and banned from the UK and no humans rights

I can assure you Arthur, I didn't get any such letter from Croydon and my circumstances were not very dissimilar to Mick's.

Best let the authorities deal with it in there own time, if at all.

Mick's done his bit by informing them, nothing more he can do. By getting involved it will only drag up bitterness and resentments, not good

    I agree...better to move on.

Thankfully my ex did me the favour of leaving the country of her own volition...once she'd got her British passport of course.
