Over 80% of cancers are related to environmental factors. Risk factors for the commonest killing disease in the UK, Philippines, and the world - cardiovascular disease - are well known. Drugs, alcohol , and smoking are obvious factors affecting life expectancy - the controversy is how to control, and how much to control, them.
