The Special One loses first Home League Game in 9 years

Jose Mourinho's unbeaten home league run remembered

Sporting Gijon now have a special, if unwelcome, place in the remarkable list of records that Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has already established in his relatively short managerial career.

Gijon's 1-0 win over Real at the Bernabeu courtesty of Miguel de las Cuevas' 79th-minute goal inflicted a first home defeat on Mourinho in 151 league games.

Back in February, Real's 2-0 win over Levante helped Mourinho mark the ninth anniversary since one of the four teams he has managed since 2002 - Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real - lost a league match at home.

    A great record for Jose

You'd better get used to it, I think it's odds on that he will take over from Fergie in the next couple of years.

After Real Madrid, the only clubs BIG enough and SUCCESSFUL enough for him are Man Utd and Barca, and I can't see him going to Barca.

I don't understand why that stupid Russian Mafia don let him go, he was doing a great job and was genuinely liked and respected by everyone

I think you are right Ian, Mourinho will be the next Man Utd manger. I think he has said in the past he would manage Utd. It would also be also a like for like replacement for Ferguson as they both want sole charge of the club, something I don't think Mourinho had with Abramovich at Chelsea.

That is a great record to acheive!! Over 9 years and spanning 150 game without losing a game at home! That record will be very hard to beat for any manager.

I think Man Utd and Jose are a perfect match, I have a sneaky suspicion the deal has already been done and Fergie is making it easier for him when he gets there by building a squad of Portuguese and Brazillian players
