When to apply for Indefinite Leave to remain? Requirements?

Hello everyone,

My husband's visa expires on 22nd Nov 2011, he arrived in the UK 16th Sept 2009.

When is the best time for him to apply for his ILR?
Any other requirements?
The "Life in the UK" test does it need to be taken on a certain month or so?

Responses would be really helpful.

take the life in uk test asap.

if he arrived on the 16th sept 2009 the earliest he can apply is 16th sept 2009 + 2yrs - (upto 28 days)

so 16th sept 2009 + 2yrs is 16th sept 2011

- upto 28 days is 19th August 2011

so earliest he can apply is 19th aug, the lastest is a few days b4 his visa expires (say 15th nov)

but always apply asap, so you have time to sort any problems out

Hi, thanks for the reply. Which application form he needs to fill in for his ILR? What sort of evidences do we need to submit with it aside from the "life in the UK" test result?

Hi, with regards to the link, I have read them... my husband has got no permanent job at the moment, he just works when he is being called, would that be alright for us to apply his ILR at PEO? or this is not a straightforward application. One more thing, some of the utilites are addressed to both of us (3 of them) but the other 3, the other one is addressed to him alone and the other 2 addressed to me alone. Would that be alright?
