    Letter of support

    Hi guys,
in the process of writing out the letter of support, using the 'template' by the ever helpful joebloggs as a guide.
One thing id like to ask is this: Is it wise to mention that you have an overdraft facility , and the Credit Card limit that you have.

My thinking is It would just show that if need be you have access to X amount of pounds on top of your savings etc.
    Thanks in advance
    L

I'd mention it - shows you are credit worthy. I always believe in putting down as much info as possible, some years ago on my CV/Job application forms i always used to put Full UK Driving Licence and British Passport - theory being it might just give you the edge if you are neck and neck with another candidate

Personally I would not add any details of overdraft or credit cards.

Concerning financial standing for UK settlement visa's, the ECO is primarily looking to be sure that have been, and that you will be, living within your means in terms of cashflow.

Many thanks guys, i can see the logic to both sides of the arguement.
I thought that being credit worthy and showing my limit might be a good idea.
Ive only ever used the thing twice.
    Many thanks

only give the info that they need and be precise and to the point, backed up by evidence and docs.

you could get unlimited ie a lot of bank accounts and credit cards, what you need is saving and money coming in and not debt
i have learnt to do what my wife says!

    Agreed.

Don't start digging yourself a hole.

    'Need to know' basis etc.

When I applied to bring my stepkids back here in the late 90s, in theory I had no home no job and no (UK) income, having been out in Hong Kong and the Phils for several years.

    Easily arranged.

You just need reliable friends and a healthy bank balance.
