    Financial matters!

My best friend who could now be coming this August asked me on how she can get her old bank account then she suddenly withdraws money there to make two accounts.
She's coming on a family visit visa and staying with her sister as you all know.
She knows that bank statements should be at least 6 months.
if she can come and visit here by August, how's the counting of her bank statement cosidering she opened two new accounts only this April? Maybe she needs to show her old bank account? She told me the old account is in her mums name.
And for the account she have under her mums name she'll withdraw it to put again on the account she'll be using as her bank statements.
What do you think to that?
She's also thinking of studying nursing in the UK and her sister will be the sponsor.
How does her sister go about sponsoring her?
Many thanks for all your kind help as always.

After reading this (and the other threads you’ve posted), I’m not sure as to who’s misleading who……

Firstly…….if the account is in her mum’s name …. then IT AIN’T HER ACCOUNT ! Producing evidence (ie income / deposits) of activity in that account is futile and totally irrelevant….. because it AIN’T HER ACCOUNT !

Secondly ……. “she’s opened two new accounts…”…… why 2 ????????? I find it very very strange that she’s never had an account in her own name in the Philippines. Didn’t she ever work there before going to Kuwait ???

Thirdly….. she’s supposedly working in Kuwait as a senior nurse.(”She has a job as a staff nurse in Kuwait”) So she’s either doing it for free & the love of the job, or she’s getting paid. And getting paid means having a Kuwaiti bank account. She’s either paid by cheque (I doubt it) or by bank transfer… it certainly ain’t “cash-in-hand”. So she HAS to have a bank account.

So, the financial records that she needs to emphasis are the ones in Kuwait. She needs to produce these statements, and also a copy of her contract of employment. (Returning to well-paid nursing job in Kuwait is great "evidence" for a successful visitor's visa)

Fourthly …… “She's also thinking of studying nursing in the UK” ….. but she’s already a nurse, isn’t she ? And with a 2yr contract in Kuwait ? (Also, Dedworth & JoeBloggs have both given you info on this in the past)

This “story” seems to have more holes in it than a piece of Swiss cheese……

I hope this ain't the case, but for some reason the word "scam" keeps re-appearing before my eyes.
If she needs "help" to open these accounts, or to "maintain" them..... be very, very cautious.

Curiouser and curiouser Whole host of unanswered questions posed by this threadIs she already a qualified nurse Nick?

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    Contradictory

My best friend is worried about her airfare.
I was wondering if she could use her Phils account to apply for a visa and pay for her airfare?
    Thanks so much.
    Cheers.

HI Nick her visa and airfare im sure could both be paid by her Phills account as the Visa is charged in pesos and plenty of travel agents can be found in Phill who of course charge in pesos.
Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

    Yes it is true.

If she's in the Philippines, she pays for her visa & airfare in pesos.
If she's in Kuwait, she pays for her visa & airfare in Kuwaiti dinar
If she's in Korea, she pays for her visa & airfare in Korean won

... you get the drift ?

If she's also suggesting that you pay the airfare, and she'll re-imburse you when she arrives...... then think about kissing goodbye to that money.

    Just noticed this thread.

Re-distribution of wealth is alive and well it seems.

Now where are those Western Union cheques I have to write for all my adoring 18 year-old girlfriends ?

Nick, have you actually met this lady, your "Best friend" in person?
Some of the questions your posing are common sense surely, she is switched on enough to get a job abroad but cant figure out everyday simple things like bank accounts and flight tickets The outcome of all this should be most interesting.
