    I was in a movie at Intramuros....playing a drunk.

    No acting involved.

Sadly Filipina's all too often end up working as prostitutes in other Asian countries. It's just the same in SG, HK and especially in the Phil's itself.

When I was standing outside my hotel having a smoke in KK, I was approached by several Pinays on numerous occasions asking if I wanted a massage, I politely declined and told them my wife was waiting in my room for me. It's far worse on P.Bourgos St in Makati, every time I went to the 7-11 I had to run the gauntlet of the hoards of hookers, ladyboys, pimps, touts, viagra vendors....etc. I won't be staying at the Citadel Hotel again, I've found a really nice quiet place in Bel-Air village on Jupiter St, Makati, it's like a different world from the bright lights and bars on P.Bourgos.

I suspect it's a problem that isn't going to go away until the population is lifted out of extreme poverty

The Citadel really is a dump, everything is decaying inside and it takes forever to get the lift. the area is horrible too. I've stayed there on 4 separate occasions, and every time vowed to never go back.

The Place on Jupiter St is just around the corner from McD's opposite the petrol station and next door to a nice Korean and Japanese restaurant, there are also lots of nice restaurants, deli's and brasseries on Jupiter. We asked to look at the rooms and they are massive, a standard double room is 2995 a night, but I asked what discount I could have if I booked for 4 nights in Aug and was given a substantial discount without having to negotiate too much.

I'll PM you with the actual price, contact details and web address when I get home later

I've done 2 nights a time at the start and finish of my last two trips to the Phils. I used to stay at the Best Western in Ermita, it's a bit more expensive but really is a nice hotel with great rooms. However, Ermita was a bit rough and too far out from Makati. The Citadel is convenient for Makati Ave, Ayala and the Greenbelt, Glorietta Malls, which is why I originally booked it, but I've had enough of it now. The Jupiter Suites aren't that much more expensive, are just as convenient, in a much nicer location and are far more impressive than the Citadel
