    Fiancee visa documents checklist

Going to finally lodge the visa application next Thursday in Manila - i have tried to get the documents checklist from the vfs site but it is a broken link - does anyone have a copy of the document which I can sign and put on the front of the stack of paper we will be putting in?

Thanks and good luck in your application.

I am out in the Phils at the moment, we submitted our docs just this past week, and I'm flying home on sunday so we will be apart til who knows when.....

I think it is fair to say we are both sick to the back teeth of the whole process!!

VFS give you an appointment time but then it appears it still works on a first come first served basis in there, so although my fiancee had one of the earlier visa times in the day, arriving ten minutes before her time as advised in the VFS appointment application meant she was pushed into a second batch and had to sit in there for 2.5 hrs (and me in the cafe next door!). Great system!

Even though to us our application is as clear as day it just seems there is such a lottery to the whole thing, and no doubt they will bring in some new requirement which we haven't fulfilled the day before someone looks at our papers, so even though we are glad to be at the final stages we are still worried.

And don't get me started on the pointless waste of time and money that is the CFO experience!

As I keep saying, true love will prevail!!

    quite!

We filed May 5th and today cel got a text saying she can pick up the application decision from the vfs office tomorrow. Quite quick - not sure if that is a good sign or a bad sign! So fingers crossed.

To top it all not sure she can get out of Bicol with the approaching typhoon - so other set of fingers crossed that it passes by without any loss of life or too much flooding/landslide. With this in mind she will try to fly on Thursday.

    Success! Fiancee visa issued!!!

Just the CFO to complete now and hope to get Maricel over here before the end of June depending on flights etc.

My humble thanks to all on this site, it is a great repository of information and support!

I'm sure Maricel will be on here looking for friends prior to the move, so if anyone is near East or South-East London do drop us a line.....

    Haven't stopped smiling all day!

    Cheers all.

Steve, i've ventured out to Lakeside a few times picking up stuff from Ikea

CFO - the final hurdle on a long road - seems pretty pointless, but 650 pesos is 650 pesos I suppose!

Alan, - congrats - I will keep an eye on prices, at the moment i've got a provisional booking on Cathay/BA on airmiles.

She went to SMEFCOW and they made her stay back an hour until I was awake so they could get my office phone number. Quite why she'd know or need to know that is beyond me seeing as UK office hours are the middle of the night in PI, but there you go.

anyway, all completed now - a suitably ridiculous end to a ridiculous process! - booked to fly into London on Etihad at the end of this month.

I was fairly confident in our application, but there were a couple of things we missed out (I just included my tenancy agreement, no letter from landlord, also I didn't get my passport copy certified, just colour photocopy) - you never know if someone at the office having a bad day might make an issue out of these things. But for now, let the good times roll!
