It's Isreal that have pressed for this, and yet it appears the guy is lucky to remember his own name
From what I understand the guy was basically a prisoner himself, and probably would have been shot if he hadn't done what he was told by the Nazi's.

Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity there are still quite rightly capital offences
The Israeli's did have him, he was jailed for 7 years then released.
