A married man sold a 15-year-old girl to restaurant workers for sex so he could buy petrol to get home, a court heard yesterday.

Tanveer Ahmed, known as ‘T’ to the young children he groomed, arranged for three men to have sex with the youngster for £100, the court was told.

He pocketed the cash to put fuel in his car and pay off gambling debts.

The 39-year-old is one of nine Asian men on trial for 55 separate charges – which include trafficking, grooming and rape – against teenage girls aged 13 to 16 between 2007 and 2009.

The article says 20% are Asian which in view of all the recent reports most likely means Pakistani - but it also goes on to say that

"The information on child grooming is so inaccurate that in almost 40 per cent of cases the ethnicity of the perpetrator is not known"

I'm just quoting the figures in the article. British born Sub Continent Asians or Sub Continent born Asians - I doubt if that matters much to their victims. The report is actually about "on street" grooming not "online grooming"

I've just been watching one of those fly on the wall police progs on the telly.

I always turn off just before the end of these because it irritates me so much hearing what pathetic punishments the offenders featured were given.

No wonder crooks have so little respect.
