when you have brought your place in the sun, what happens next, i am on about water and electric and sewerage, does it go into mains or from mains or is there septic tanks, is it down to yourself to sort this out , any help will do , thanks

Hi Steve,

Our water comes from our bore hole, not from mains supply. It is drinkable from the tap. We have a pump and pressure tank on the system so when we turn the taps on we get water out the tap just like here. When the pressure in the tank drops the pump kicks in and keeps the flow going. Water is free for us, but we pay for the electric to get it to the surface. Our water from the toilet runs via pipes to a septic tank.
Electric wont go to the septic tank, but it comes through wires overhead. You are charged each month just like here. No problems mate, it is easy to sort.

thanks steve so who empties the septic tanks yourself our a company or your local farmer

Steve..Our tank is 3 meters long,2 meters wide and 2 meters deep divided into 3 chambers..This is the size that local building standards demand and should last 25 years at least for a domestic house (probably 35-50 years)
Our water is from the Barangay system and costs us 10 Pesos per cubic meter..The pressure we get feeds our tanks in the loft ..Gravity takes care of the rest..
Some areas demand that you drill your own deep well which needs to be connected to a pump and a pressure tank to feed your supply... One of my drinking buddies has a drilling business and says the average job including pump and pressure tank costs 60k PHP... All depends how deep the water is situated..
