You need to show 3 months bank statements.
Don't submit overdrawn statements. If it's totally unavoidable for some reason, then you will need to put good explanation why in writing.
I suggest you check out the application form and guide:-
Example of the form look here:-

Sorry to barge in too Moy , just need further clarification and advise, since we are on the same boat as you said earlier.
With regards to the 3 months bank statement - does this have to be the 3 months latest or 3 months spread during the 2 year period?
Appreciate your guidance and advise.
Thank you =)
Just trying to help you guys, but please take a look at the links you will then know exactly all the stuff that needs to be planned for over the 24 months qualifying period.
If you do a search you will see that lack of compliant documents WILL cause problems and stress.
Please take a look. Don't leave it until 1 or 2 months before application that's too late.
Prepare your supporting documents in line with UKBA requirements.
the same, but the risks of being refused ILR are a lot lower compared to a spouse visa.
thank you for the inf and guidelines
good question Braveheart been thinking of that earlier
you need at least 3 of your latest bank statements and also 6 pieces of evidence in joint names spread over the 2yr period.
thank you joebloggs
moy, since you still have time before you apply for ilr, why don't you open a joint account too. this will definitely help towards the evidence showing cohabitation =)
Hi Moy,
No I don't have my own bank account. Hubby has his own but we have our joint account from a different bank than the one he has. We opened the account a few days after my arrival here in the UK and we receive regular statements.
For Evidence of Finances (Section 10, Note 7 of the Form (M) - we will submit his own bank statement since all incoming and outgoing is reflected there. Plus, we will also submit his payslips. (I am not, as of the moment part of the work force.)
For Section 10, Note 7 - Documents - we will submit the joint account bank statement, among others, as evidence of cohabitation.
But just the same, Moy, it states in the form that if you do not have enough items in your joint names, you can also provide items addressed to each of you individually. We have about 5 documents/letters under joint names, we will just provide documents as per their acceptable letters listed individually.
Oh, I hope we get it right.
Take care
thank so much for the inf Braveheart as me am still on process on gathering some doc that will will going in time when its my turn to apply
you'll be fine
