A loathsome bunch with pampered working conditions/practices who don't live in the real world. My mates a Senior Lab Tech in a 1300 pupil comprehensive and you should hear the srories he comes out with. Most of them would be hard pressed to gain employment in the private sector. 14 of them on strike so the lily livered head has shut the school except for 6th formers.

My heart bleeds for all Public Sector workers

They have the best Pensions, Sick Pay Schemes, Maternity/paternity and benefits packages available, and all heavily subsidised by the rest of us.

While we in the private sector can't afford to contribute enough into our own Pension or sick pay schemes they still want us to pay for theirs via our taxes.

And no doubt they'll be striking if they don't get a 5% inflationary pay rise this year. They make me sick, I've had to take a 50% cut in my income over the last 5 years due to the economic mess this country is in. Do I complain about my pay, or threaten to strike? of course not, I'm grateful I've got a job.

I have to share your sentiments the public sector had it good and now theres no money left they cant stand the thought of having to cut back like most of us in the Private Sector...

I always bleat one thing - its your choice - everyone chooses their jobs they dont have to do that - they could try and get a job in a private school or college or university etc etc I know cross training to another career can be difficult but if I was a teacher here of English I think I'd setup something in a country where people want to move to an English speaking country like the Phills
    enough said me think...

When I was at school the teachers bunked off more than the kids. Bunch of piss takers.
