It was a 1955 Austin A30.
Dad was in the Royal Navy, and the car was shipped out for him...one of the perks the forces had in those days. Still had to pay for it of course.
Virtually every car on the road in Malaya and Singapore was British, because of the old colonial connection, and of course they drove on the correct side of the road...as in Hong Kong.
We were there 3 years, and young as I was, I can remember virtually every day of it.
