Great day out....lots of sunshine, but now I have a face like a beetroot.
Met lots of friends too (I was pit-crewing for one of the TVR Tuscan racers).
Alan, I took this little video of the Auto GP racers, but just on my digicam, so not good quality. They do sound nice though, don't they.
This is the car I was helping with:
The owner of THIS car (below) has a FILIPINA wife:

Glad you had a great day out mate!
Are you there for the weekend?
Its a World Touring car event yes?
Its always a good feeling to be involved and in the pitlane huh
Great pics BTW
The Formula Student competition is being staged this weekend.
It's organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and challenges university students from around the world to design and build a single-seat racing car, which is then put to the test at the famous Silverstone Circuit.
Ross Brawn has launched it.
World's largest student motor sport event at Silverstone
Pity about the weather, but I'll bet they all have a great fun time.
Indeed Terpe,
There are many great opportunites today for those budding F1 Designers & Engineers of the Future!
Formula Student is about the whole process of securing their budget , processing design and manufacture of their car and then racing it! Fabulous concept!
There is also another FIA inititve called F1 in Schools
Should keep the UK at the top of the F1 tree for a long time
Hi Alan.
Yes, great day, and we were so lucky with the weather.
It was actually the practice and qually day for most of the racers, but the TVRs did have 2 races because their event had been brought forward from the normal schedule, so slotted in on the Friday.
I did get to watch the touring cars practising of course, and also there was some good Maserati racing, which I hadn't seen before.
Couple more pics:
1. Chevy LS-powered Marcos....guest running with the TVRs:
2. Mike Saunders' 'privateer' Ferrari and Porsche GT cup beating Cerbera.
It would have been good to stay for the weekend, but my son is doing an outdoor concert with his band today, and of course dad will be 'roadie' , as usual.
This could be muddy.
