    Spouse Visa Submitted

    Hi all,

well my asawa submitted the application today and got a sms from VFS Global to say application have been "dispatched to the British embassy for processing" however I'm slightly confused as she has to go back in the morning for facial Biometrics & finger prints,is this correct I thought the visa couldnt be processed without these, seems odd it's being done the following day,can anyone else verify this?

normally whe they accept the application on the same day that you have submitted your application they do the biometric and finger prints..in my personal experience i arrive 9 am in the morning as my appoinment was 10 am ..about 11:45 im all done both submission of the documents and biometric..
on your case there might be delay in the machine or they are busy

yeah my asawa's appointment was at 10.45am but she said her and a few other ladies were told to come back the next day for bio's & finger prints

I just thought it was odd they sent the application to the Embassy without these? All we have to do now is sit and wait for the result i guess

... and, suffice to say, the individual mentioned above - a relative of mine through marriage - was granted her 2-years' residence permit shortly afterwards. I hope what I've told you helps set your minds at rest.

Cheers Arthur,I wasn't really stressed about the sms from VFS just baffled that they submitted the application without the Biometrics & finger prints being completed

But she sorted them this morning so guess the machine was playing up on the day of her interview now we play the waiting game hey !!

Good luck! My Fiancee went in today also she has received the SMS that UKBA has received the application...

Someone said to us they think it should be done in 2 weeks if lucky.
I noticed the May statistics 335 apps received (settlement) 5% of them approved 5 days 25% approved in 10.

Yes ... it's customary for biometrics to be taken in conjunction with the submission of applications - although I did hear of one case where a person applying for FLR at a PEO office was asked to return the following day. Turned out there had been some malfunction involving the equipment used for fingerprinting. And as far as the text message you received from VFS is concerned ... it's merely a standard, automatic - albeit occasionally "misleading" - response of theirs.

So relax ... and don't be "reading anything into" this request.
