    Eeee good old 'Northern Soul'....though at the time I had no idea that's what they called it...just good music for youth club, party and disco.

    Oh, some more good stuff there Les.

    I sooooo much wanted a Scooter when I was 16, but dad forbade it because he said they were dangerous (little wheels ), so I was the only one of my mates who had one of these...Triumph Tiger Cub 200...which actually I was scared of, if I'm honest.
    Took me a month working through the school hols to save up the £20 price.

    Nice one Les....but not as far down the pecking order as......my second 'bike'.

    I give you...the MIGHTY Raleigh Runabout (hand-painted in blue duluxe gloss and purchased for £10)





    I used this contraption....so weedy that pushbikes would overtake me when flat out........to commute from Knaresborough to York to work everyday ! (36 mile return trip).
    I think I pedalled most of the way.
