Ok, I'll admit to having spent £35 this week....not much on the bargains shelf.

Nowt wasted in my house, but we do eat an awful lot of cheap spuds it seems, and we eat very little ready-prepared food, 90% all home-cooked to my own recipes.
well thats impressive, have you thought about publishing a recipe book

Oops ... , Graham ... our respective posts must've crossed!

"Nowt" IS a Yorkshire expression though, is it not?

... looks like I'm the second person tonight to make you "cross".

I've got huge 24 hour Asda's, Tesco's and Sainsbury's within 5 minutes of my house. It doesn't matter what time of day or night I go, they are always busy. I do find Asda to be cheaper than the other two though. There's also an Aldi in the next village. A few years ago I would never have shopped at Aldi (me being a snob), but my opinion has changed and I frequently shop there as it is convenient, the food is good quality despite the stereotypical negative comments people used to make about Aldi (if it's good enough for our German neighbours, it's good enough for us). Something else I've noticed about my local Aldi is that their car park is usually full of brand new BMW's, Audi's, Mercs, Jags and Range Rover's which is not the type of car those who've never been would associate with a typical Aldi shopper. Time to forget those stereotypes and save a few quid

You look better with a beard Arthur.

And Les, you remind of a cross between Les Battersby & Louis Walsh.

I hope I've not offended anyone.

i know what you mean about tescos but when i was in Thailand they were a godsend

tesco lotus out there is a big brand and its a bit strange to see tesco tins on the shelves out there but for many expats a nice bit of home!!

quite funny cos the locals all called it lotus and we all called it tescos

mind you i dont think they have got packs of frogs in the tescos freezers here yet
