We love music too, my 8 yr old bought me Guitar Hero for the Playstation about 5 yrs ago, and ever since then he's loved rock/guitar music. His favorites are:
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
Stairway to Heaven - The Zep
One - Metallica
In the end - Linkin Park

Have you played him Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower ? Classic IMHO Tell him not to try playing it with his teeth !
