My Fiancee had Dengue Shock Syndrome and almost died.
I think it is a scandal that Western Drug Companies can't be bothered to look for a cure for Dengue, but it's all down to Potential Profit.
Unlike Maleria which affects some European Countries and the USA, Dengue is only found in poorer countries in Asia and SE Asia, and these countries can't afford to pay Big Bucks for a cure.
I'm sorry to know about your fiancee and hope she is fully recovered.
There is actually a global pandemic of infection by this RNA flavivirus, and you will be pleased to read the good news in my recent thread :-

I used to belong to the world community grid disease research website... You download an application from their site and run it on your task bar background..
So the more people that download this app. the quicker the research is completed.. Think I`ll start to help them again..It costs nothing to do so.

Mission
The mission of Discovering Dengue Drugs – Together is to identify promising drug leads to combat the Dengue, Hepatitis C, West Nile, Yellow Fever, and other related viruses. The extensive computing power of World Community Grid will be used to complete the structure-based drug discovery calculations required to identify these leads.
I actually thought that Thailand were the front runners in Dengue research but Doc Alan says that the Philippines may be closer with up and coming human trials in Cebu??
The Philippines and Thailand were the first countries where dengue haemorrhagic fever was first recognised in the 1950s.
San Pablo and Cebu were chosen because they have the systems in place for monitoring the vaccine. I believe the vaccine is also being tested in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Well done Fred for telling us about Community Grid Disease research website - and indeed for reading my posts . This is good news !!
