My Fiancee had Dengue Shock Syndrome and almost died.
I think it is a scandal that Western Drug Companies can't be bothered to look for a cure for Dengue, but it's all down to Potential Profit.
Unlike Maleria which affects some European Countries and the USA, Dengue is only found in poorer countries in Asia and SE Asia, and these countries can't afford to pay Big Bucks for a cure.

I used to belong to the world community grid disease research website... You download an application from their site and run it on your task bar background..
So the more people that download this app. the quicker the research is completed.. Think I`ll start to help them again..It costs nothing to do so.

The Philippines and Thailand were the first countries where dengue haemorrhagic fever was first recognised in the 1950s.
San Pablo and Cebu were chosen because they have the systems in place for monitoring the vaccine. I believe the vaccine is also being tested in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
