    Does anyone know how to extend the standard 3 weeks visa entry to philippines and how much it cost?

    or .. is short trip out of the country for a few days then back in is the best way fward?

    Depends where you are. You can get a 59 day visa from the RP UK embassy before travelling but I think you have to apply in person. 21day to 59day upgrades are available at the airport or multitude of satellite Immigration offices doted around the country. Avoid Manila only for the queues. I help arrange this for my divers quite often in our local Tagbilaran office in Bohol. Cost is now about P3500 I think. You might be able to get a flight out of Clark to Malaysia for that but lots more hassle. Be aware if you go over 59days it then gets expensive....also you need shoes/long pants/shirt with collar to guarantee entry to their offices.

    I extended mine while there, and the hotel done it for me. Cheaper if you do it yourself but I wasn't fit to travel at the time Hotels can take 1-3 days to process, but if you go yourself it's same day, but be prepared to wait.

    win2win was right u should prepare yourself for a long wait,minimum of 4 hrs.the last time weve been there took us 10 hrs to wait (pasay extension)....u will be paying an express lane additional of 500 but still wait for long hours.

    the P500 Express Lane Fee is now automatically charged whether you request it or not. Pretty impressive as Bohol office only has one window/lane Typical processing here is about 30 minutes as long as you avoid lunch hour. Cebu tends to be about 3 hours. The hotels/travel agencies charge P200 to do the filing for you, saves getting dressed up and you can shop whilst it gets done.

    Davao was half that,maybe less.

    Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
    The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    Do it as you arrive in Manila, when you get to the immigration booth, say you want a 59 day visa and they take you to an office just back on the left. Takes 15 minutes and about 3000peso or so.

    This is true ONLY if you are accompanied with your wife when you arrive and then you will be allowed to stay for 1 year, it is called balikbayan privilege.

    Don't take any risks, the worse case scenario is you end up in jail?

    You're quite happy with illegal overstayers in the UK then?

    You want to be black marked in the Phils for immigration? They are VERY strict on this, and it MAY effect any visa apps in the future.

    Yup, extend to 59 days just for 1 day. Mate of mine tried this out of NAIA and ended up paying for the extension anyway, was fined and the delay meant he missed his flight and had to buy another ticket.

    Extension = £45
    Extension plus fine plus flight ticket plus hotel = £1000

    Not hard to figure

    look at the date at the stamp in your passport after you passed by the immigration at the NAIA Airport..if your date to go back to UK is after the date on your stamped passport, you still need a visa extention even just for a day..
