I really do not understand why the vast majority of Filipinos don't campaign to introduce divorce onto the statute books. The present situation, where in so many cases divorce proceedings are euphemistically called 'annulment' is preposterous, as divorce is in theory not allowed ( Vatican City is the only other country worldwide where divorce is not allowed).

If divorce was called what it is, then there is also no reason why it cannot be made quick, very simple and very cheap, where the parties affected could obtain an order without any intervention by lawyers, as happens in UK, Spain and I dare says in many other countries too. Lawyers are seldom needed. The only necessity is a process to protect the innocent and the children.

Come on 80 million + Filipinos, get the law changed and stop the legal profession screwing citizens.
