    FLR conditions for my wife

    Hi Everyone,
This is my first post here so hello everyone. My wife successfully got her fiance visa with lots of great help from this site, so first of all, many thanks for that. She passed her English test on May 30th and got her visa on July 12th. We will be applying for FLR asap, her current visa expires in January, but on reading the UKBA advice concerning the english test, we are uncertain if she has to do another test here in UK as the testing requirement changed on 18th July. We think probably not, but need to be sure, so over to the experts! We would also appreciate any advice on requirements for FLR and when would be the best time to apply for example one or two months before expiry. many thanks.

Hi, Ricardo ... to the forum. Your wife can apply for FLR anytime between now and January; she will NOT be required to sit any more of the Language Tests for this purpose. Obviously, the earlier she applies, the quicker it'll be out of the way ... and she'll be able to work as soon as it has been approved. All the information you need can be found on the UK Border Agency Website.

Mention has been made in the previous post about the 'Life in the UK' Test ... and this has to be taken prior to making application for Indefinite Leave to Remain [ILR] some 27 months down the line.

So ... for the moment ... take a look at the website I've referred to above. Should you require further assistance/clarification please feel free to contact us.

hi ricardo! i just filed my FLR (M) only last Monday and got a problem with my english language test although when i applied for a fiancee visa, it was one of the approved test provider of the UKBA then. since they changed their approved english test providers last 18th of july and now they are saying that my english test is not valid at all "just because" its is not on their list. so better check the new english provider approved by UKBA on their website. in my case, i need to take another english test but we just filed our application for FLR (M) so if they made the decision and they haven't got my new english test result, we need to start filling again the FLR (M) and pay AGAIN the same cost. or might file an appeal. and up to now i am still waiting for my passport because UKBA got all my documents and i cannot take an english test without my passport. we have already faxed a letter to them requesting to return my passport as i need to take the test asap. good luck!

    ricardo,
    What was the test?
Who was the provider (the awarding body)?

If it's not on the current approved UKBA listing you will need to organise another test before applying FLR(M)
You should apply FLR as soon as you get married ( as long as English Test is approved to new listing) Don't wait too long.

Normally FLR(M) will be granted provided there is no major non-compliance.
Just be careful with the English test.

... based on what I've learnt since my previous reply, I would strongly echo this sentiment.

    Hi Terpe,
We are just about to apply for FLR as we got married a couple of weeks ago. She passed her English Language Skills assessment on May 30th this year, the awarding body was EDI and the tests were conducted by Theodolite Training Group UK Inc. in Cebu City. I would be very grateful if you could provide a link to the list of UKBA providers.Kind regards

hi jen28 same as your situation i had my english test taken last january in the philippines and unfortunately my test provider is no longer included in the new aprrove list.the only good thing is i havent submitted my flr yet so i still have time to take another test which is really time consuming.jen28 what kind of test your going to take is it ielts or key and where your going to take? i read that the exam results will be given to us after 2motnhs and to think we have only limited time before our fiancee visa expired.hope your able to sort everything jen goodluck! apying another huge amount is really stressfull.
