    about NIS?

Just want to know about NIS? My husband's friend told him that I have to get this done, and doesn't need to wait for the visa. We just got married and we are processing the papers for FLR Visa. Any help from you guys will really be appreciated. Thanks.

If it IS an abbreviation for 'National Insurance Stamps' ... then I shouldn't imagine you'd be eligible to apply for an NI Number until your FLR is approved - since NI contributions are generally deducted from employees' wages - and you AREN'T entitled to work prior to being granted Further Leave to Remain.
