Passport running out

Hi, my wife's passport runs out the end of october, just wondering if it's ok to renew this Philippine passport any time, after it runs out. *We don't want to travel all the way to London in October, as we have no plans to go back to the philippines for the next year or 2. This is the only passport she has,and inside she has her ILR.

*Too right, you don't! And I empathise ... it's EXTREMELY expensive to travel from Scotland to London ... and - as you've seen from the replies already received (two of which I've quoted again + highlighted where relevant, below) - completely unnecessary at this juncture.

Her Phils passport may expire but the UK Visa is still valid.

I can tell you how it happened for my wife.
She would carry her old passport around with her whenever she travelled.
UKBA told her she could transfer the vignette to her new passport but it would cost around £80-£90 or just keep her old passport with valid visa.

I think it costs £100 these days for transfer. Seems a no-brainer to me but obviously people do it.

As a kuripot ... I KNOW what I'd do!
