    passports

i have read here that it takes upto 12 weeks to renew your passports, ie name change from maiden to marriage name is that right also is there a quicker way, and yes that may mean more money, just wondering

    Hi steve,

I got my passport last week 6th Sept.. I went to Phil. Embassy last 27 July 2011 to have it renewed/amended and I received a call last Monday that my passport is ready for pick up.. so the 12 weeks turn around time is the maximum according to the person I spoke with at the Phil. Embassy.

    Hope this info helps.

They don't do amendment or name change anymore. Instead the passport needs to be renewed. The Phil. Embassy doesn't process the passports. It will be sent to Manila. The same thing with DFA regional offices in Phils.. they (DFA) accept passport applications but it will be sent to Manila, that why even back home it can take up to 4 weeks to 12 weeks.
