    Sunday roast.

Well, my lovely step-daughter and handsome son took themselves off shopping today and then cooked us a fabulous roast dinner.

Whole roast chicken with stuffing, roast potatoes, parsnips and shallots, sausages wrapped in bacon, proper home-made Yorkshire puds, broccolli, carrots and swede, with gravy. All cooked to perfection.

This was followed by chocolate birthday cake with candles on top.

A wonderful day from my wonderful kids.

Good going, I thought all Yorkshire puds had to come from "Aunt Bessy"
Glad you had a good day

No they were definitely the real thing Mick.

In fact I learned a lot about cooking today.

It was also nice to see my boy enjoying the company of his sister, something that unfortunately is quite rare these days because of course they all disappear off to college at different ends of the country.

Great for education, but sadly it's what has led to the splitting up of families, neglect of the elderly, and quite possibly the lack of community spirit these days.

Oh well, mustn't go back back to grumpy old man mode. It's been a lovely day.

Yes children do have to move on to live there own lives, mine left home over 25 years ago, it is now a treat for me to spend time with them, but it sadly is not very often

    Mick.
