I did see a few of his programmes in the 80's, although I have to admit I didn't really like his style of presenting, he always seemed a bit too far removed from me and my life at that time. I prefer Michael Palin, he never came across as being so stuck up and really made a connection with me. I know he's not a rough and ready backpacker like Benedict Allen or Bruce Parry, but he has always been a big inspiration for me and my travels.Originally Posted by Terpe
