I sent mine by moneygram but it cost almost £20 to do that. But as some people will point out, it isnt just about the fee, it is also about the exchange rate that they give you.

The reason I sent the visa fee by moneygram was partly habit as I sent my wife money each week by that same method and she didn have a bank account.

My wife felt uneasy about carrying so much money so she took someone with her.

To be honest, I didnt shop around. That was mainly as my wife and I had established a routine with moneygram. And owing to wanting to get the visa fee sent and paid, so that she could apply for her visa, I wanted to simply ensure that she got the money okay, without a hitch.

Hi john, we always use a company called exchange 4 free http://exchange4free.co.uk/ they do just what it says on the wrapper,
Its an online thing, where you call them from a landline agree an exchange rate and they give you a code to put in the transfer form online that garuantees that rate, and they will send to any bank in the world.
We have always used them for large sums of money,

for smaller amounts nanay has a lloyds tsb debit card and just goes to the whole in the wall

I used to Paypal to pay for a holiday in Spain a few years ago ( about 1000 pounds ). Worked well. So I imagine you can send a similar amount to your fiance without a problem.......

Sending it through western union or moneygram is the safest way... My fiance used to send me money before inserted and taped inside a card through ordinary post (it arrived!) that was done out of stupidity though.

However, money transfer charges seems too expensive. does your husband has BPI account? there is a BPI branch in UK, they have lesser service charge though. If he does, that is the cheapest way I think.

Bank transfer is the safest, at least that way you won't be out in town with 50,000 + peso in your pocket.

Uf you have a BDO account in Phils, Orbit Remit service ocly costs 5-7 pounds no matter how much u wants to transfer and you can also arrange two types of cash pick at every branch of BDO bank and all MLhuillier outlets
