Hmm stevewool, that exchange rate looks on the low side to me.
I tend to agee with purple that 68+ is about right.
Certainly I've not been forced anywhere near 65-66 at anytime during 2011.

As always, just do want you feel OK with.

I take minimum pesos from here and change £s there.

Probably get 70+ from money changers there now.

Then again, skinflints like me don't need much. lol

I always have p1000 or 2 in my travel bag here at home....ready for my next trip, just to get me out of the airport etc.

Does Emma still have a PNB account? if so send a remittence to the account and draw it out via ATM's when you get there, thats what I do. 65 sounds very low to me

Steve, the official rate a few minutes ago was 68.9. With that in mind you should be able to negotiate 67 - 67.5 at any of Manila's money changing kiosks.

I only ever change money there as the rates are far better than anything you'll get here.

Better to phone a bank and just have your card to withdraw at any secured atm's around as there are loads of scam money changers bit unsafe . Takecare always to everyone

I just sent money today through my BPI express online with their natwest accnt current exchange rate Monday 14-Nov-2011
    From 09:30am-4:30pm (UK)
    £1 = P69.25

..it never goes below £65per £1 sinced i start sending money online with BPI

..its better to have the same banks like BPI,PNB,HSBC , one active account in the Philippines and one active account here in the uk, its a lot easier and cheap to transfer money via online banking
