hi all what would you think is a good amount to spend each day for 2 people when traveling around the phils, nothing flash, just good honest food and accomadation if needed

I'd say 1000 php per day would be a very comfortable budget for eating and drinking in average places and getting about by taxi. If you budget for 2000 a day that would give you plenty of spending money and you could probably eat in very good restaurants and do more expensive activities.

The only thing to watch out for are some of the businesses that are quite obviously marketed towards the rich filipino, i've walked out of places in the Phils where the menu appears more expensive then places in the Monaco....

It's hard to say Steve. How many meals will you eat a day, how many snacks, how much will you drink, how many day trips will you go on, how many taxi's, buses, trikes ....etc? I'm the sort of person that does like to enjoy myself on holiday and not worry about the cost, I don't think there's any point going away if you're always worrying about your money lasting. On a typical 2 week break to the far east, where I pay for absolutely everything I'll usually spend £1000 - £1200 plus hotels and flights.

Yea I think Php 1,000 is well enough for two people if you wanna go about or have a tour or something. It's a bonus that you get excess with that.

Always just try to blend into my surroundings and keep to a tight budget.
