The UKBA requires applicants of all settlement visa's to pass ANY English Language test that meets or exceeds the A1 level of the European Common framework.
There are a number of different tests that can be taken, and a number of Approved Providers and test-centres but they must be on the UKBA approved listing.

Here is the UKBA approved list of English tests and providers.

    The UKBA site states that,
"In the test, you will need to demonstrate a basic command of English (speaking and listening) at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference Someone assessed at level A1 can understand and use simple, everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
You will not need to demonstrate your reading and writing skills. The minimum standard that you must meet is in speaking and listening at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. "

Do remember that UKBA currently only requires a very basic level (A1) for Speaking and Listening. There is no reading or writing or grammar testing at all.

All of the various English tests are quite expensive. In the region of about P7000 - P8500

You really need to find a test centre that offers an appropriate test at reasonable cost, close to where you live. Many of these test centres also arrange review classes for those whose self-confidence needs a boost.

With all the practice papers done, you should be OK.
Am I right in saying that you get the results of one set of papers that afternoon?

That looks like a good score to me! You might be surprised how well you do in the other tests. You cleared the bar by a long way....

My wife didnt do as well as that but she still passed with a comfortable margin.

Yes. I think that is why she was nervous as she said she felt she wasn't good at speaking. But she still passed okay.

L and R was 695 I seem to remember which was still much higher than the requirement for the UKBA.....

I did say not to worry!
That was 75%! Far more than required by the UKBA.

My wife got 120 out of 200. Still way higher than required.

Having said that, I bet they raise the requirement a little in April....

A FEW MINUTES? A little bit more than GOOD LUCK IN YOUR TEST LADIES

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    Hopkins

When do you update your booking calender? Need to book the UK L&S tests for April 25, we spoke with someone there to confirm the dates but as we had to buy flights and book hotels upfront to keep the costs down we are getting nervous if anything changes.......

    Thanks

    Good day!

Rest assured that all testing dates published in our website are not subject to changes within the year.

Just be guided that each test date has a one week before deadline (April 18 for April 25 test date) for registration, payment and submission of requirements.

    Thank you!
