Are Happy Meal Toys Worth Collecting?

I don't eat at MC's that much but a lot of people seem to collect the Happy Meal Toys they give out for free. Anyone know how much the original Happy Meal Toys sell for?

In the Philippines, McDonalds sell all their old Happy Meal toys for 3 for P100...hahahahaha...I do buy Happy Meals just to get the toys and then give it to my nephews...But I've got a friend who collects Happy Meals Toys...he and his entire family have collected one cabinet full of Happy Meals Toys...

Oh and normally the collector, for their money, expects them to be unopened and pristine!!

Here is an example on ebay:

McDonald's Happy Meal Smurfs Asia Special Edition 2011 Toys, complete set of 8 sold for £34.90 a few weeks back......

Well I used to collect the Lord of the Rings figures issued by Burger King. But they are still worth very little. I believe some of the Happy Meals toys can be worth a few pounds or pesos. A quick look on ebay will answer your question. But its a highly specialised and fickle collecting area.

Just seen the Happy Meal collection in Bacolod. Amazing. But there is a thread on just now by Doc Alan on Fat Tax etc which is a bit ironic. The flip side is that someone has to munch their way through a lot of Happy Meals to complete their collection.....
