Need Advice on visa application online!

Hi forum friends!

Please help I need your advice. I have just started filling in visa application online but had to save it as I am confused with some tricky questions there.

I am not sure what to tick with the question:

Employed part-time
Self-employed
Unemployed
Student
Retired
Supported by spouse/partner or other family member
Other

I have a small online shop I opened this year thru facebook. I sell korean dress, shoes, bags and the like. I'd like to include it on my visa app but i'm afraid they will question it because
I don't earn that much there as Its just a hobby for me. So I don't know If I will put self-employed there as I don't have the business permit thingy to show to embassy that I own the business but I have saved Paypal transactions that I've been purchasing goods from supplier in China, photos of delivered goods and some money transfer receipts from costumers. Do you think they can consider it as a business even without the business permit?

or maybe I could tick unemployed or Supported by spouse but I don't like them to think I fully depend on my husband's salary although the truth is I'm unemployed and my husband send me support each month. He doesn't like me to work so I can concentrate on visa application. Should we tick Supported by spouse? sigh. Just confused with this tricky question. I hope you can give me advice. When my fiancée applied online she was employed in Singapore however as you have to attend VSF in Phil to submit the signed application, she had to give up her employment and just hang around in Phil until the ECo decided to issue the visa. The bottom line is that I dont think they are interested in your employment in Phil but very much so in your Uk husband who has to prove to ECO that he has sufficient savings plus regular employment in the UK so that he can support you both rather than trying to access public funds which will not be available as per the terms of any visa.
I provided 6 months worth of salary slips, a copy of my employment contract plus 6 motnhs worth of bank statements and my savings account showing I had sufficient funds to continue to support us both and this appeared to satisfy their requirments.

Juvy,
Don't get too hung up on questions about your own employment. The ECO is not really interested in that unless your income/savings etc are going to be used in sponsorship.

UKBA must be sure that your sponsor can afford to include an additional consumer (ie you) in the household.

Sometimes it can be a double edged sword to provide loads of information about independent wealth or very high income levels in Pinas. The ECO will then likely question you as why you want to settle in UK.

There's usually no problem to just be honest with your answers and enter self-employed. If that's the case and there are no issues with BIR

Thank you so much for your advice. I now understand what to answer in that question. Another thing we are worried about is, my hubby doesn't have much savings as we just got married and we used the money for wedding, trip, etc. But he has a permanent job that pays him good amount of money annually. Do you think his 6 months payslips, employment contract and last 6 months bank statements should be good evidence that he can support me in UK? Thanks again in advance and GODBLESS us!

Don't get too worried about savings either. In many ways it's a bit of a myth that you absolutely must show plenty of savings. Maintenance (sufficient funding) can be proven by reference to both savings and/or regular income. However, most of those who have gone though the Spouse Visa process would advise on having some savings.
It costs quite a bit to cover the Visa Application, Air fares, and supporting someone in actual settlement in UK. It would be reasonable for any ECO to expect something like £2000 in the form of savings.
Although some members here have secured a visa with hardly any.

Submission of 6 months bank statements and pay slips will be just fine, provided they tell the story the ECO wants to know. Namely that your sponsor can afford you.
You sponsor must take care to show he is not living beyond his means. Please avoid overdrawn bank statements, they raise more issues to explain.

Well it worked for me but then again i did have savings and my own house without a mortgage commitment so im not sure if regular employment and salary is sufficient without some kind of funds as a back up in case of hard times. Maybe others here will have a better handle on this financial aspect.

The real key to financial standing is having a regular income above income support level.
For a couple that level is £106 per week for discretionary spending.
Means with no rent or mortgage, no secured credit/loan and no council tax.

I've only ever known of 1 case where independent savings was the only financial support
mechanism. I don't know exactly how much in cash savings he had, but he intimated it was in excess of £100,000.

Thanks Terpe! I guess we have to explain on the covering letter that we used most of his savings for the trip, wedding, honeymoon and visa expenses. He said he should have atleast £1000 left on his savings account after paying my visa and he has regular income so I hope that should be enough for us to convince the ECO that we can live decently without the need of public funds. Thanks a lot of your help.

Perhaps I could tell my husband to withdraw some cash from his CC and deposit on his savings account. We surely gonna sort this financial stuff.
