Almost ready to come to the UK, one last question. Does Lilibeth need a cetificate to say she is TB free and does she need to have a chest xray handy for the border folks?

The true answer is no. My wife didnt and wasnt asked for it at UK Immigration. Some here advise yes, just in case, but strictly speaking no. I recall the UKBA website confirms it. Or at least it did back in August / September.
I think one or two folk have been asked for the certification at UK border control, but I believe that they were errors on the part of the Immigration officers concerned.
And now that she is here she hasnt been given a chest xray by her GP as some on the site have mentioned being the case.
When is she flying? Presumably after Xmas now?
We are flying out on 29/12, she is a bit nervous of the questions she may be asked by UK border officers. When we came back for a vacation in 2010 the officer was a bit of a bitch towards Lilibeth. Hope this time we get a nice sensible one.
I know what you mean. For that kind of reason I met my wife in Amsterdam and flew with her to Manchester and cleared border control with her. It was a doddle.
Rina had the x-ray and came in August via Heathrow T3 and wasnt even asked for the x-ray.
I'd personally have one "just in case" after all the hoops youve jumped through you just dont want to get some stupid ECO who wishes he/she was off work!
If it's a hassle to get them and it will be, I wouldn't bother. We never got asked.
no you don't need one, but if your landing at a London airport you might be asked by immigration staff if you have one, and maybe asked to have one taken at the airport if you dont have one, if your not asked you'll probably get a letter in a couple of months asking her to attend a local clinic for one to be taken
