ups i thought it was pesos
no really thats why football has never intrested me, the wage and what they do for it, just so wrong, but thats just my thought
I agree steve. 100,000 + for kicking a bag of wind about.
One mans word against another.
As far as I know the UK and only a few other countries have basically banned the word n*g*r due to PC. Every time I'm in Asia the word is used to just mean a black person, no racism involved, and that is the way in South America and most places on the planet, even in Florida ... those pesky Confederates
He's been banned for being a 'racist' however look up the meaning of the word and they have zero evidence that is the case. Can't wait for the Liverpool lawyers to get hold of this on.

Whilst I wouldn't use the N word myself, (mainly due to having it drummed into me that it is offensive) I too have heard Filipino's use it frequently in the same way that they call us Puti's.
Now the FA have set a precedent on this case, it will be interesting to see what happens to JT I don't know what he is alledged to have said to Ferdinand, but I'm guessing it must be along similar lines
Use of the N word in Britain is a sure way of ending a public figures career - look at what happened to Ron Atkinson when he made what he thought was an off camera comment. I doubt very much that Big Ron was a racist any more than JT or Suarez are
I think most people would accept that the N word is offensive...except in the context of one N to another N.
I would probably resort to violence if someone racially abused my son.
Let's not forget why most of us are members of this forum.
Edited to add:
If you're a guest in another country....abide by their laws !
I think its pretty screwed up - and is probably the FA sending a message to Blatter who will probably respond with telling the FA they need to do a U-Turn!
lets see what happens but as many say the word used is freely used in so many countries!
Cheers

I think the FA have to be seen to be making a tough stand against this. Black English players are regularly greeted with monkey chants from hostile fans when they play in many other countries, particularly in eastern Europe. If the FA let this go, they will look like hypocrites the next time they complain about abuse in Turkey, Croatia or Bulgaria....etc
suarez should have been banned for one year ! he needs to be taught a lesson !
So you were there and heard the words exchanged between the two? I dont think you can say that in the same way I cant really say he shouldnt have been banned at all.
I personally think the FA have taken the victims side to the extreme (which in the UK is not the norm I suppose) but its is one mans word against another, and on that basis how can you believe that?
In this country a similar example is when two motorists hit each other the insurance companies will put this down to "knock for knock" you both get to pay your own repair bill where the fault cannot be put 100% on one.
I think 8 game ban was too much "for an example" and we still dont know what Evra said to Suarez - just because one person is white - it doesnt mean racism cant go the other way....
Its a very difficult one to call but I do think the call for a 1 year ban is wildly out of context.

I have a feeling that Liverpool and Suarez will appeal and the decision will remain but with a reduced penalty.
I must admit that it seems about time that everyone grew up and started living together.
Most of us grew up with all types of jokes and jibes, which I still get living in Spain, without the need for legislation to 'protect us' and 'alienate' others !
Legislation to prevent racism should be reserved for serious matters where people loose out because of it, but in every day life, come on !

I don't mind if you make Irish jokes, I won't understand them anyway !!!
Yep....mum's Irish, so I've only half a brain.
Do we know if there were any witnesses or witness statements? Isn't all this done behind closed doors? I am not totally familiar with all the fine detail of the hearing.
Just wondered if there is evidence that the public haven't heard.......
Terry is worse off - the CPS are involved so ultimately his ban could be due to a spell in the cells courtesy of HM Prisons!
Whatever happens these guys have to learn - there is no doubt about that but when you hear the rappers call eachother N's and B's there have to be changes accross the world not just here. This can only lead to more censorship and blah blah blah...
One thing they were discussing on Talk Sport at length was the context of the Man Utd V Liverpool fixture its always been a heated exchange of words and football and sometimes people say the wrong things!
as the dragons would say "I'm out"!
suarez knows what he said.
not setting a good example for young kids is it if he gets away with it lightly ?
he deserved his 8 match ban, shame it wasnt much longer !
Hope he never uses the "W" word to describe caucasians what a farce, load of toffee,n*gger derives from nigrum the latin for black,so you cant call them that, you cant call them coloured,so what do you call them?Former Liverpool footballer Alan Hansen has apologised after describing black players as "coloured" during a debate on Match of the Day.
Hansen angered viewers after he twice referred to black players as "coloured" when discussing the race row threatening to engulf the sport.
At the time he said: "There's a lot of coloured players in all the major teams and there's a lot of coloured players that are probably the best in the Premier League."
Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.
They have to pretend that everyone is the same colour.
Somewhere like the philippines where people have far more important things to worry about such as daily life and putting food on the table no one bats an eyelid,in fact its common when a dark girl from negros is described as a negra, heard it myself often,so what exactly or how is one supposed to describe the colour of a person from sub-saharan africa,I have heard black people describe themselves as n*ggers countless times, they glamourise it in movies and in their rap....Pull the trigger cap that n*gger....but they get petty-antsie when anyone other than themselves uses the term?

Life's tough like that.
Ask any Caucasian in Australia with skin cancer.
Trying to change millions of years of evolution overnight will inevitably create problems, but as usual, the out of control pestilence that is mankind will blithely carry on regardless.
Thankfully many of the Fil/UK forum members are doing their best to address the colour issue.
Good for them, but I thought we were talking about the situation in the UK.
