    Venison,pheasant or guinea-fowl

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

I'm with you on that Moy, I don't care for turkey neither does my wife.

If you want to stick with tradition why not just go for a nice fresh cockerel instead. You may still find one at your local butcher.

We always have cockerel every Christmas.
    Hmmmm, tasty and tender.

You'll probably not get Faverolles (the best breed imo) at such short notice. But anything you get will be so much better than turkey.

    Faverolles cockerel

I'm undecided, I've got a choice of two options in my freezer - Chinese style crispy duck (without the pancakes) or a 4 bird roast (Turkey, Chicken, Duck and Goose). I did have an option on a pheasant too, but I forgot to pick it up from my colleagues house when I dropped him off yesterday.

If they wandered in my garden they wouldnt leave I really like pheasant,I used to live on it as a kid,my dad used to send me out with his .410 and a pocket of cartridges once the leaves were off the trees and they could be seen silhoutted against the sky when roosting

This is really true. I opened my front door yesterday morning to find a pheasant sitting on the doorstep.
I had to shoo it away before it would move .

When I was a kid we had plenty of pheasant and also rabbit.
Can't stand to eat that now.
